[REVIEW] MSL PLAYOFFS - SF1: SESI São Paulo x VIVO Minas

Sesi-SP is the first finalist

Foto da notíciaAfter five seasons, the state of Sao Paulo has again a team in the Men's Superliga Finals. This FRIDAY (8/4), SESI-SP defeated the Vivo / Minas by 3 sets to 0 (25/20, 26/24, 25/23), at the gymnasium Vila Leopoldina, São Paulo (SP) and secured a berth in the finals of the tournament. The hosts closed the semifinal series best-of-three against the Mineiros with two straight wins after losing the first playoff showdown.

The opponent of the Paulistas in the finals will be decided in the third game of the second semifinal showdown between the Vôlei Futuro (SP) and Sada Cruzeiro (MG) to be played Friday (15.04), 8h30pm, in Contagem (MG).


The outside hitter Murilo, of Sesi-SP, was elected the best athlete on the court and took home the trophy VivaVôlei. The player, considered the best in the world last year, played the match in the sacrifice, after suffering a thigh injury.

The highest scorer of the match was the outside hitter Luiz Felipe of Vivo / Minas with 18 points. By the side of Sesi-SP, the highlight was the opposite Wallace with 14 hits. The coach of the Sampa City team, the two-times Olympic champion (92/04) Giovane Gavio, celebrated for reaching his first final of Super League as a coach.

[REVIEW] WSL PLAYOFFS - QF4: Pinheiros Mackenzie x Usiminas Minas

Pinheiros / Mackenzie guarantee the last spot in the semifinals

Saturday (04.02), the Pinheiros / Mackenzie secured last place in the semifinal round. At home, in the gym Henrique Villaboin, in Sao Paulo, the team two-time Paulista champions received Usiminas / Minas (MG) and won by 3 sets to 0 (25/15, 25/22 and 25/22).

Foto da notíciaWith the victory, the team headed by Paulo Coco closed the series of quarter-final in two games to one. This is the fourth time that the Pinheiros / Mackenzie reaches the semifinals of the Superliga. Already Usiminas / Minas was knocked out of the competition.


The Pinheiros / Mackenzie dictated the tempo throughout the game. The outside hitter Soninha, of the Sao Paulo team, was voted best on court and received the trophy VivaVôlei. The attacker was also the top scorer of the match, alongside the central Renata, from Usiminas / Minas with 12 points each.

[REVIEW] WSL PLAYOFFS - QF3: Vôlei Futuro Araçatuba x Macaé Sports

Foto da notíciaFor the first time in its history, Vôlei Futuro (SP) is in the semifinals of the Women's Superliga. This THURSDAY (31.03), the team of Olympic champions Fabiana and Paula Pequeno defeated Macaé Sports (RJ) by 3 sets to 1 (25/19, 24/26, 32/30 and 25/18) and will face the defending champion Sollys / Osasco (SP) in the semifinal round. The game that defined the classification of the team from Araçatuba (SP) was held in the gym Municipal, in Macaé (RJ).

The attacker Joycinha of Vôlei Futuro was the highest scorer of the match with 23 points. Setter of the team from Araçatuba, Ana Cristina received the
trophy VivaVôlei for best player in court.


The game was also special for the middle blocker Fabiana, from Vôlei Futuro. The Olympic champion scored three points of blocking and reached the central Valeskinha, from Unilever (RJ) as a record of points on the basis in the history of Superliga. Each one has scored 633 points of blocking in the competition.

This THURSDAY (31.03), the Sao Paulo team confirmed seat in the semifinals of 10/11 edition of the competition after defeating the Banana Boat / Praia Clube (MG) by 3 sets to 0 (25/20, 25/22 and 25 / 13) at the gym Praia Clube, in Uberlandia (MG). The victory ended the series of the quarter-finals with two-nil.

The outside hitter Jacqueline, from Sollys / Osasco, who played her second game after recovering from a knee injury, received the Trophy VivaVôlei as best player of the match. She scored 11 points in the
match, scoring the same as central Thaisa, who was the leading scorer of the match.
