WORLD LEAGUE 2011 SPECIAL REPORT

Continuing our series of post-season news, the Brazilian MNT continued their journey to the tenth title of the World League. The team coached by coach Bernardo Rezende finished the Intercontinental Round in the first place and in the final round, will face the teams of Cuba, Russia and the U.S.A.

First, were the girls received in the stage set on the floor of the gym Placido Rocha with smoke, lights and hip hop in the background. Then the same for the men's team.Thus, with party atmosphere, the Vôlei Futuro presented their teams for the season 2011/2012, on Monday in Araçatuba. After a good year, when it had its best results since its inception, the club based in a city in the state of Sao Paulo came to invest in big names for its tenth birthday.


After losing Fabiana, that will play abroad, the women's team was the one most emphasized. With titles for the National Team, Walewska, Carol Gattaz, Fernanda Garay and Ana Tiemi Takagui are the main stars. They join Paula Pequeno and the American Stacy Sykora, who suffered a serious accident last year and returns to the club at the end of the year following the commitments with the national team. The coach is also new: Paulo Coco, who came from Pinheiros, takes over the team. After spending seven years abroad, Walewska says she is excited to return to Brazil and finding city so involved with the team.

Compared to last season, the men's team suffered the most significant losses.Leandro Vissotto and Lucão, both national team players, left Araçatuba at the end of the Superliga. In contrast, came Lorena, who was in Italy, Vini, champion of the Super League last season with Sesi, Bob, outside hitter that also played  in the last Italian Championship season, Pia, who played in Japan, and the libero Tiago, who last played in the Super League last year by Minas, as the main reinforcements. Of these, only Tiago and Pia were in the presentation on Monday. Coach Cesar Douglas leads the way of the team once again.

Schedule of the National Team makes Unilever to quit the South American clubs competition


Unilever abriu mão do Mundial de Clubes porque terá principais jogadores na seleção brasileira


The Unilever Rio de Janeiro, seven times champion of women's Super League, confirmed on Tuesday that will not participate in the South American clubs competition, date and place not yet defined.

The competition qualify for the Club World Championship, to be played in 8-14 October in Doha, Qatar. During this period, Unilever can not count with full force, because the CBV did not release the players of the national team. Therefore, the club chose to give up participation.
