[THE SERVE NEWS] SPECIAL OFFSEASON 04

Vôlei Futuro Araçatuba wins the São Paulo State Championship for the first time

VF CAMPEÃO PAULISTA 2011

Vôlei Futuro Araçatuba defeated Sollys Osasco by 3 sets to 1 on Thursday and won the Paulista Volleyball Championship title. With good performance of the outside hitter Fernanda Garay, responsible for 21 points, the team from Araçatuba had the support of the fans in the gym Placido Rocha to close the best of three series by 2-1.

Coincidentally, every set had the same score, ending in 25-20, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-20.

Despite starting the game struggling to turn the ball on the court, Garay found herself in the second half of the final, and along with Paula Pequeno and Ana Tiemi, led the team into the unprecedented title of São Paulo State. The champions also counted with excessive errors of the opposing team, who surrendered 31 points. The conquest had special meaning for coach Paulo Coco, who won the last two editions of the championship, in charge of Pinheiros São Paulo.

SESI São Paulo keeps the hegemony and conquers the State Championship for the second consecutive year

Mesmo desfalcado dos atletas da seleção brasileira, Sesi-SP conquistou o título paulista
The absence of some of key players could not end the dominance of SESI-SP. Even without four players who were with the Brazilian team in the World Cup, the team of coach Giovane Gavio defeated for the second time Medley /Campinas by 3 sets to 0, with partial 25-20, 25-22 and 25-23 and won the São Paulo State championship for the second consecutive year.

Murilo, Serginho, Sidão and Rodrigão, all with the Brazilian National team in the World Cup, have been replaced at the same level. SESI-SP confirmed its rise in the final stages of the tournament, kept control of the two clashes against Campinas in the best of three games series and enjoyed the support of his home crowd on Saturday to close the confrontation by 2-0.

Now, they all turn their focus in the 2011/2012 season of the Superliga, that will start this weekend.
